Profhilo®
Profhilo® is a revolutionary injectable treatment with one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market. The non-surgical anti-ageing treatment can remodel ageing skin, boost skin laxity, and increase hydration.
What is Profhilo®?
The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary beneath the skin, hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment. It’s unique formulation of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid is one of the highest concentrations on the market.
When injected into skin it stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.
The powerful moisturising properties and hyaluronic acid combat the signs of fine lines and wrinkles whilst deeply hydrating the skin and restoring a youthful glow. The stimulation (after having the Profhilo treatment) results in significant tissue improvement. By acting directly on skin laxity Profhilo® also improves the appearance of uneven skin tone, pores and dull pigmented skin as part of a bespoke skincare programme
The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity.
The benefits
The Process
Taking as littles as 10 minutes to complete, Profhilo® is injected into specific points of the desired treatment area. Rather than replacing volume, it creates volume by both attracting water to the treated area and stimulating the proliferation of the dermal cells increasing the production of collagen and elastin. This is why treatment leads to both an instant lift and brightening of the skin along with a longer term regeneration of the skin.
Initially two treatments are carried out 4 weeks apart with benefits lasting for up to 6 months. For best results, a single maintenance treatment should be carried out every 4-6 months.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Profhilo® work?
Profhilo® is a skin laxity treatment. Through "skin remodelling" it stimulates the deep layers of the skin with increased firmness and reduced lines and wrinkles.
What can I expect during my treatment?
Profhilo® is administered via a small needle at 5 key points around the treatment area. It is a fairly straightforward procedure and you will not need any pre-numbing or anaesthetic substances. A course of 2 treatments, a month apart is recommended and for those with more advanced signs of ageing, a 3rd and potentially a 4th treatment may be advised. After your treatment, you will be given some aftercare advice and can leave the clinic to continue your daily activities, though it is advisable to rest for a few hours following the treatment and not undergo strenuous exercise or to have any hot steam treatments, saunas or hot baths. It’s important to keep the skin clean afterwards, so avoiding makeup for 24 hours is also advisable.
Are there side effects?
Immediately after treatment there may be some mild redness and swelling at the injection point. This will generally resolve within 24-hours.
What results can I expect to see?
Increased firmness, elasticity and an overall improved quality of the skin can be visible for up to six months’ post-treatment, However, this does depend upon the degree of correction required, your age and lifestyle. For best results a second treatment of 2ml is recommended one month after the first treatment. Maintenance treatments can be scheduled according to your body’s response to treatment.
Does it hurt?
Anaesthetic is not used for a Profhilo® as it is not generally required. The injections may sting briefly and you may experience a mild discomfort, but this is normal and will subside. After your treatment you may experience some tenderness for around 24 to 72 hours.
